What is your return/refund policy?
Our products are made on demand and we have limited storage capacity, as a result, we can not accept returns under any circumstances.
Nor do we offer refunds for buyers remorse.
We offer instead a replacement first policy for manufacturing defects. We stand by our product, and if anything is wrong with it, we will make it right.
Each case will be evaluated carefully.
If replacement is unable to be completed, or a second item failure occurs, we will refund the customer in full, and they can keep or dispose of the items.
What about exchanges?
Exchanges are possible-
-You must purchase your preferred items, after clarifying with us your needs to ensure there is not a misorder.
-You will maintain possession of the items, unused, and properly packaged. Photos will be requested of the undamaged items, as well as packaged up.
-When another set sells, we will contact you, provide you with shipping label, and you will drop to the carrier, providing a picture of the drop off.
-Once the item is confirmed en route to the next customer, we will refund your original order.
-Exchange completed.
Do you ship internationally? How long does it take?
We ship to Canada and the USA, now using a system called Chit Chats, to benefit from the CUSMA/USMCA trade deal between Canada and the USA.
This has significantly reduced the cost of shipping, as well as eliminated risk of incorrectly applied duties, because Chit Chats has their own CUSMA/USMCA form and verification system, where a review and an authorization for preferential tariff treatment is systemically applied.
Standard shipping is included in the price over the continental North America, but small packages to Hawaii generate very high costs.
In these events we may reach out to you to ask you to cover any extra associated costs.
Processing times vary based on a number of conditions.
Ideally we can produce your items within a week, and then ship out free using Chit Chats, which is around 10 business days en route.
This is a batch shipping system, the first leg is through another carrier before it reaches Chit Chats distribution center.
We typically will only ship once or twice a week to reduce associated costs.
This means you should get your items within on average a 3-4 week time frame.
At times our supply line may be delayed, or we may have high volumes of work, or we may be experiencing unexpected circumstances like weather delays or otherwise.
If it looks like over 2 weeks to produce and ship your order, we will reach out to you and let you know. Otherwise you can always reach out to us.
How can I track my order?
Once your order ships, you should receive a tracking number via email. You can use this number to track your package on our website or the carrier's site.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards, Apple Pay, and Google Pay for your convenience.
How are they made?
We use monofilament 3D printing to rapid prototype and manufacture custom designed side steps.
How do I install my steps?
Most of our items are designed for a snap fit engagement. You should be able to either push in, on, over, or leverage it in between. It may be helpful to angle the step or use a dead blow item like a rubber mallet to tap it on, however in most cases you should be able to merely apply body weight, or solid kick, and get a satisfying "snap" as the item locks on.
How do I remove the steps?
Removal procedure will vary based on different models, but generally speaking its the reverse of installation.
Though the nature of our products are easy to install, we aim to make our products at least slightly anti-theft, so in some embodiments, removal may be a bit more technical.
Other embodiments may benefit from a blow with a rubber mallet, heavy object, or a good solid kick upwards from the end of the step, to reverse the grip of the snap fit design.
Just don't go crazy, a gentle thump should be all it takes. You can use a phone book or block in between to reduce sharp impacts, and wrap it with a towel to protect the finish as it drops.
How much weight can they hold?
Actual total capacity will vary based on size of the item, and user conditions or item age. But in general all variations will support at least 230 pounds, or an average human weight without concern. We aim for a test capacity over 500lbs, and derate them. Soon we will have equipment to begin high detail testing and data collection.
We do not advise ever applying dangerous shock loading type maneuvers on them. They are made very strong, but nothing is unbreakable.
Are they made to be light duty or heavy duty?
We make our products very thick and sturdy when compared to competitor reviews that have shown broken steps.
We prefer to use more material, aiming for a minimum of a 5mm wall thickness on all sides.
We also use structural triangular infill in our designs. Triangles are used everywhere in platforms like cranes or bridges, and are very strong and resilient for long spans or cantilever designs, so why should we re invent? We will stick with the long proven physics.
Technically however, due to the manufacturing nature of 3D printing we rate our products as light duty use, but design them to be as heavy duty as is reasonable for the method of production used.
